Home from Loudon

I got a few souvenirs from my weekend in Loudon, including the worst sunburn I've ever had. I saw four races, two incredible finishes, a ho-hum race and a first-time winner. A damn-fine weekend of racing. It was a lot of fun hanging out with the guys at Andy Santerre Motorsports. It's a shame that their day ended early with a crash/tire failure. Hopefully they can rebound at Thompson.

Wimmer's 17th-place finish moves No. 40 team up in owner's points

Scott Wimmer and the No. 40 team got just two laps of practice, but the team worked hard and Wimmer turned in a 17th-place finish, good enough to move the team to 24th in owner's points. The team should be safely in the top 30 in points for the remainder of the season, allowing them to not have to qualify on time.

Brett Moffitt held his No. 44 Andy Santerre Motorsports Chevrolet solidly in the third position before a tire blew out and he hit the wall. The wheel locked up and he was unable to finish the race. The finish dropped Moffitt from first to fourth in points.
